Growth and Consolidation in the LESMD Region
The 2020 merger of the Peninsula and McCready healthcare systems resulted in the formation of the largest of the two existing LESMD healthcare systems – Tidal Health. Representing the second largest industry Wicomico, the most populous of the LESMD counties, the Economic Engine of Healthcare has a tremendous impact on the regional economy.
Tidal Health’s network of locations in all three counties employs thousands of individuals, clearly marking it as an important player in measuring the impact of the healthcare industry in the LESMD Region. In addition, Tidal Health maintains a robust practical and programmatic role in the LESMD workforce development/educational continuum by partnering with the region’s colleges, universities and technical high schools.
