The Governors Challenge Basketball Tournament held in Salisbury, Maryland has grown to be the largest holiday basketball tournament in the country. In its 40th year, the Governors Challenge will bring nearly 130 teams to the Wicomico Civic Center and surrounding high schools. Teams traveled from around the nation in order to compete in this nationally recognized event and in 2019 and carried an economic impact of $2.1 million dollars to the Lower Eastern Shore.
