Education Partnerships

Wallops Flight Facility actively engages in providing educational opportunities that connect high school and post-secondary students to the new space market on the Lower Eastern Shore, thus inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers by partnering with area schools and universities through career and science fairs, presentations, internship opportunities, classroom visits, and events.

Technical High School & College Outreach

Pre-engineering internship presentations, information sessions and webinars serve as inspiration for students interested in a future career in Aerospace on the Shore.

Outreach efforts include

6 Wallops Flight Facility employees worked with 14 Worcester Technical High School pre-engineering students on capstone projects.

With 2 current UMES internships in place Wallops Flight Facility held an internship presentation for 13 UMES Engineering & Aviation Sciences students.

NASA Wallops had a major presence at Junior Achievement Inspire, a career mentorship and exploration event that brought together 6,000 middle and high school students from 7 school districts in Maryland and Virginia.

Webinars with University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Salisbury University, Eastern Shore Community College, Wor-Wic Community College, Chesapeake College.
